The Front Nine

Club History

Built in 1926 by three-time US Amateur Champion Walter Travis, The Golf Club at Equinox was created at the request of Mrs. George Orvis to handle the overflow of players from neighboring Ekwanok Country Club. World reknowned architect Rees Jones undertook a full-course renovation project in 1991 to bring the course to contemporary standards. Our guests have fully enjoyed the masterpiece brought to life by these two famous architects.

The Back Nine

Our Club's Future

Renowned course architect, Rees Jones, has once again been commissioned to renovate The Equinox’s 1927 Walter Travis designed golf course. Rees Jones and team did the original renovation in 1991. Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the greenside bunker renovation project are now complete with Phase 3 scheduled to begin in early spring 2024.
